In mid-spring, the inhabitants of planet Earth celebrate the International Day of Environmental Awareness The importance of the idea was first thought about in 1992 in Rio de Janeiro, when the UN Conference was held in this Brazilian city Since then, the environmental celebration, which falls on April 15, has been considered an important “green” date on the calendar Celebrated in the Russian Federation since 1996 The approval of this date is very important for the entire society, because the environment is in great need of universal support and protection from the harmful influence of the anthropogenic factor Protecting Mother Nature and preserving it for future residents are the main steps that lead to sustainable and safe development In order for people to understand the value of an idea, it is necessary to carry out educational work and instill proper, non-consumer thinking from a young age The public must be informed about the state of the environment and planned and implemented steps in the field of environmental safety The festival aims to eradicate the consumerism and thoughtless attitude of people towards natural resources and the environment, and environmental education should raise awareness among people and also direct their thought process in the right direction On this day, all sorts of events are organized: exhibitions, conferences, round tables, seminars, etc In educational institutions there are speakers who focus on topics such as the protection of animals and plants, as well as natural resources Interesting master classes are organized for the youngest participants in the celebration (planting trees, creating birdhouses, cleaning up the area, etc) All environmental events are necessarily covered by media workers in order to attract more ordinary citizens to participate in actions to improve and revive nature A person of any age can become part of an environmental project or a general “green” action, and thereby contribute to solving the problems of a general environmental crisis in a local area Preserving the unity of man with Mother Nature is very important, both for the current inhabitants of the Earth and for descendants Solving the necessary problems is possible only through joint actions aimed at improving people's awareness of this serious issue
