The emergence and widespread distribution of household electrical appliances, office equipment and the spread of other types of electronics have significantly increased the average use of electricity by the populationInternational Day of Energy Saving This has led to the commissioning of new energy generating capacities that pollute the environment and actively use natural resources In connection with the need to preserve the biosphere, the issue of the importance of energy saving has become acute To expand and increase promotional activities, improve the culture of energy consumption, as well as the development of renewable and environmentally friendly energy sources, the International Day of Energy Saving was established This international holiday is still too young to have a history rich in traditions For the first time, the need to establish this memorable day was mentioned at the international meeting of coordinators of the “School Project on the Use of Resources and Energy” held in Kazakhstan in April 2008 The decision adopted at the conference received support among public institutions and initiative groups, and on November 11 of the same year the first International Energy Saving Day was celebrated From the very first memorable day, the public of twenty countries (the Russian Federation, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, Ukraine, and so on) called on the citizens of planet Earth to take care of saving electricity, as the most popular source of energy by the population and industry Focusing public attention on the issues and problems of energy conservation, which is the fundamental idea of ​​the International Energy Saving Day, is impossible without conducting a broad propaganda and information campaign For this purpose, seminars and conferences are widely used with the participation of specialists working in energy generating companies, scientists, activists and environmentalists, as well as all those who are concerned about the future of our planet Lectures held in various educational institutions, exhibitions, promotions and other public events cover listeners and visitors of various social strata But it is not enough to deal with issues of saving all types of energy only on November 11, the International Day of Energy Saving Every inhabitant of our planet, who wants to preserve it for posterity, is obliged to take daily care to reduce energy consumption in his home or workplace In order to make your contribution to energy conservation, you do not have to take an active part in the events held and organized by the “School Project on the Use of Resources and Energy” events It is quite enough if you: • learn and, if possible, apply measures to save energy in your home, as well as the peculiarities of energy consumption of various household electrical appliances For example, using energy-saving fluorescent lamps or emptying the dust collector of a vacuum cleaner immediately after cleaning will not only save energy, but also reduce your payments for the services of energy supply companies; • conduct regular monitoring of heat loss in your home; • prevent heat leaks from your home (window insulation frames, doorways, thermal insulation of walls, and so on);• turn off the lights after you leave the room;• install multi-tariff electricity meters instead of conventional ones;• turn off televisions, chargers and other electrical household appliances at night, the operation of which does not affect your comfort and health
