The holiday of Mechanical Engineer Day arose back in the days of the Soviet Union, and for Ukraine it was established by the Decree of President L Kravchuk in 1993 The purpose of Mechanical Engineer Day is to support workers in the mechanical engineering and instrument-making industries Since then, the holiday has been celebrated every year on the last Sunday of September For citizens of Belarus, Russia and Kyrgyzstan, the Decree was issued on October 1, 1980 by the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR Mechanical engineering has existed for more than two hundred years The development of the country and the standard of living of its citizens directly depends on the engineering industry, because it is one of the leading ones in the economy In terms of the cost of products and the number of employed people, it is an undoubted leader Main directions: - transport (automotive, shipbuilding, aircraft, railway industry, rocketry); - machine tool building, metallurgy, energy; - mechanical engineering for the chemical and petrochemical industries Millions of people are employed in the engineering industry - these are intellectual workers, engineers and designers, managers and people working in auxiliary branches Mechanical engineering is a real catalyst for scientific and technological progress The goal is to make work less difficult and at the same time more efficient, to increase productivity by providing absolutely all industries with funds of the appropriate technical level It is on Machine Builder’s Day that the government congratulates the country’s main workers and awards them honorary titles: “Honored Machine Builder”, “Honored Worker of Industry” In addition, open days are organized during the holiday, when everyone can visit the enterprise and get acquainted with the specifics of the industry Celebrations, concerts, and festive events are held in all cities, but they are especially noisy in machine-building cities Every day people use mechanical engineering products - cars accompany them always and everywhere Personal transport, agricultural, public However, in addition to the automotive industry, this includes both washing machines and nuclear reactors with submarines The structure of transport engineering combines the production of cars and diesel locomotives, trucks and cars, trolleybuses, minibuses, aircraft and sea vessels There has always been enormous demand for equipment and machinery from domestic manufacturers, both from domestic and foreign enterprises In addition to the manufacture of traditional products, new technology and equipment are constantly being introduced for the domestic market For example, diesel trains, drilling rigs, road equipment, freight cars Some of the products are exported to the CIS countries, India, and Mexico In terms of industry development, countries differ greatly from each other The lion's share of production is produced by countries with a high level of development Leaders - America, Japan, Germany, France, Russia, China The specialization is quite extensive, as they say - “from a needle to an airplane” Other countries, less developed and advanced, may specialize in the production of one type of product, which they present on the world market But despite this, they are far behind in terms of the overall coefficient To produce high-quality products and be a leader in the global market, a sufficient number of qualified specialists and labor resources are needed Without such personnel, the productive work of numerous research institutes and design bureaus is simply impossible
